One Wild Night – Amelia James

Jake pulled her blouse down her shoulder, tucking it under her bare breast as he leaned down to take her nipple in his mouth. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Jake knew he should take her to his room before they ended up completely naked, but he’d be damned if he could move an inch. He felt joined to her, body and mind. Yes, do it, I want you, now, take me, touch me there, oh god yes, please…. Their thoughts mingled; their desires tangled. Miranda grabbed the back of his neck, lifting his head so he met her eyes. Without a word, she begged him to take her right there in the street.

Jake groaned deep in his throat and lifted her onto his hips, crushing her against the wall, hearing her gasp as he slammed his body into hers. Something ripped when he pulled her skirt up, but he didn’t care because she was kissing him open-mouthed, biting down on his lower lip. Fire shot through his limbs and as he struggled to shove their clothes out of the way, Jake suddenly sensed they were no longer alone.

Dammit.

“Hold that thought,” he whispered on Miranda’s lips as he slid her to the ground. “I’ll make him go away.”

Miranda’s eyes got as big as saucers when she peeked over his shoulder. “Jake, don’t….”

“Nothing to see here, friend,” Jake said as he slowly turned around. “Just move along—whoa!” He took a startled step back as he came face to face with a growling, snarling, clawing thing covered with filthy matted hair and a pair of wicked looking horns. “What the hell is that?” It didn’t look like any animal he’d ever come across. It reared up on two legs and slashed at them, razor-like claws just inches from Jake’s throat.
