Who are you and why are you here?
I’m Becca, and I’m here to get to know all you guys better and tell you about my book coming out this fall. I’m really excited for the release, it’s my first novel and it’s been a long time coming.
Plug your book(s) in three sentences or less:
What genre(s) do you write in? Why did you choose it?
I write in paranormal romance and urban fantasy. I chose it because I like the freedom to create worlds, or to put my own spin on this world we live in. The “what if’s” are so fun to explore. What if ghosts really exist? What if fairies really can charm men into being their slaves? I also dabble in dystopian fiction, and I would love to try writing erotica at some point.
Do you use a pen name? Why/why not? How did you choose it?
No pen name. I publish under my nick name, Becca, because it’s less formal sounding and it was what my Dad always called me.
Most writers are ‘different’ from the rest of the world in some way. What makes you different/odd/weird?
Wow. I guess it’s my love of the paranormal. Halloween is my favorite holiday, I would willing go into a haunted house not run from it. I love abandoned buildings and lost towns. I think they have amazing tales to tell. Old cemeteries too. Hunting the Moon was born in an old cemetery. I was exploring it and the whole story line came to me. My kids would tell you I’m weird because I love collecting old musty books. But who doesn’t?
Where do you get your ideas? What motivates you?
I get my ideas from everyday life. From questioning what would have happened if we did this instead of that. Motivation comes in all forms, for me it’s the hope that someone will find something redeeming in my work.
What do you like on your pizza?
Feta, olives, and spinach. With a white sauce of course.
What is your favorite guilty pleasure?
What do you wear to bed?
Camisole and yoga pants usually. But when my kids are away, just panties. Lol
What is your ideal vacation?
Two weeks in Australia. It’s on my bucket list. More reasonable, to hide away in the White Mountains and explore with someone special. Hike and get lost, make love in the woods.
What’s the weirdest search term that led to your blog?
Wow.. To tell you the truth I have never checked. Lol! I just get excited by the number of hits, and followers. I am pretty low key when it comes to my blog.
And now for some either/or questions: Bath or shower?
Shower. Just because I am usually pressed for time
Mayo or Miracle Whip?
Cat person or dog person?
I have had both, but I am partial to cats. I love their spirit of independence and their connection to witches.
Chocolate or vanilla?
Chocolate for sure!
The book or the movie?
The book hands down.
Floss or brush?
Both. Have to do both.
Phone call or email?
Email. Little known fact that my true friends know, I hate talking on the phone. Texting was a godsend invention for me.
Bonus question: What is the airspeed velocity of a coconut-laden swallow?
~About the Author~
Rebecca Boucher was born and raised in Worcester Massachusetts. Her father instilled an early love of reading in her and encouraged her when she started to write. Currently, Rebecca is a freelance writer and blogger. Her first novel Hunting the Moon (The Moon Series) will debut in October 2013 from Write More Publications. Rebecca is also the Write More Publications blog tour coordinator. She is an avid Beta reader.
When she is not writing, Rebecca is the mother to two boys, ages 10 and 13. Her youngest son was diagnosed in the Autism spectrum, and a lot of her volunteer time is spent raising awareness and promoting education for that cause.
